Beginning Handmade Bookbinding

Artist Randy Norris will teach you how to bind a small handmade book (approximately 4.25” × 5.5”) using a French link stitch. You will use cardstock for your cover and leave with at least one finished book of about 30–40 pages, perfect for use as a personal journal. The class will explore basic bookbinding terms and supplies, as well as strategies for embellishing covers and different ways to apply this skill to your art practice in the future. Participants are welcome to bring their own favorite papers of any type to use in their book, or use materials provided by Art SHAC.
