About the event
Ever wanted to turn a piece of mail into a work of art? Join artist and educator Jon Foster for a playful introduction to the world of mail art—where envelopes, postcards, stamps, drawings, collage, and found materials become creative expressions meant to travel through the mail.
Jon will introduce participants to the history and possibilities of mail art and share ideas for creating your own unique pieces. Then it’s your turn to experiment, collage, draw, stamp, layer, and transform ordinary mail into something unexpected.
And the fun doesn’t stop at the mailbox! Selected mail art created during the workshop will be displayed in a special Art SHAC hallway exhibition, giving your tiny masterpieces a chance to be seen and enjoyed by our community.
No previous art experience necessary—just bring your imagination and a willingness to play!
