See Creative Reuse in Action!

What can you make with fabric scraps, remnants, and materials that might otherwise be thrown away? Come find out at The Ethical Sweatshop, a live sewing and creative reuse event at The Art SHAC on Saturday, October 24 from 1:30–4 p.m.
Throughout the afternoon, our team will transform reclaimed textiles into one-of-a-kind tote bags while sharing ideas for giving discarded materials a second life. Visitors can watch live sewing demonstrations, try their hand at botanical block printing, enjoy light refreshments, and purchase a limited-run upcycled tote bag. It’s a fun, hands-on way to see creative reuse in action—and maybe leave inspired to look at your own scraps a little differently.
The event is free and open to the public, with block printing and tote bags available for purchase. Proceeds will support The Art SHAC and Piedmont Environmental Alliance, helping creativity and sustainability thrive right here in our community. Come create, learn, shop, and help us keep textiles out of the landfill!
